“He who dies with the most toys wins,” was certainly one of the more ridiculous sayings during the eighties. I can’t imagine lying on my deathbed thinking “Gee, I worked my ass off to buy three cars and a boat, have a nice home and a 140-inch TV, but didn’t really do much else. Success!”
Material objects bring me no satisfaction unless they are directly helping me achieve other goals. But when I leave my comfort zone, and put myself out there traveling or meeting new people, that’s when I feel successful. That certainly can take money, but the money is not the object that I measure against.
This post is dedicated to those who measure success by factors that have nothing to do directly with money.
How do you measure success?
